La mar s-a urmarit crearea de soiuri cu rezistenta genetica la rapan si fainare, fructe de calitate. Soiurile de par prezinta rezistenta la Psylla si arsura bacteriana, fructe de calitate superioara.
Soiurile de prun au rezistenta sau toleranta la PPV, fructe de calitate superioara, sunt autofertile.
Soiurile de cires si visin sunt mai rezistente la boli si ger,  au fructe mari (calibru>30 mm la cirese), pulpa ferma, culoare atractiva.
